As featured in HYPEBEAST Designing collection by collection, the mood of bound sways as per the direction of lead creative head Jake. The frustration in the lack of ability to be able to move and gather inspiration has hit us all this last year, but beautiful spots never lay dormant. The sun, always shines on certain angles of the world. We have wanted to achieve a more prominent aesthetic to each collection, after shooting 'six' in our hometown of Manchester in the Winter. Reaching out to Es Studio, and creatives in photographer Gian Cecson alongside Valerie Defillo shooting VHS, there was an immediate mutual connection for the styles prominent in the 60s to 80s, in matching this with the way both like to shoot their content on film. 'bound' has always been driven by a retro force, an originality yet with a focus on remembrance. Styles we saw our parents, grandparents pull off so eloquently whilst on their travels. Drop shoulder sleeves and more relaxed fits, with colourful patterns and silhouettes. Collection seven had everything about freedom in mind and combining with Gian in the beautiful Dominican, the perfect Summer aesthetic was achievable, to show off those cuban collars and smooth fabrics. Stripping back, let the clothes and the locations do it's natural talking, with its old-time architecture and haunting history. An island with deep Spanish roots that fought for its independence in the 1800s. There was many levels that reached out to us in the design process of collection seven, which was then able to be made prominent in its visuals. Whilst time almost stood still, the ability to represent a connection and create an atmosphere yet 4000 miles apart, stands strong in that creativity will always have a diverse route, despite limitations. The sun will soon hit all our shoulders again. With thanks to Gian Cescon, Valerie Defillo and Estudio C6
